It's hard to believe we are 11 days into the new year. As with every new year we set goals. In general, these goals we set usually do not be reached. I kept feeling that I had goals that I wanted to reach and wasn't reaching them. I stumbled upon Lara Casey's Instagram and was led to Cultivate What Matters. I learned about Powersheets, an amazing workbook that helps break down your goals and to find out why these goals matter to you.
Each month goals are broken down into monthly, weekly, and daily goals. Monthly goals are what can be done over the course of the month. Weekly goals are the goals that can be done each week. Daily goals are done everyday. Every three months you refresh your goals because circumstances in your season of life can change and so then will your goals. If you are interested in learning more, visit the Cultivate What Matters blog.
I bought a 6 month set of Powersheets last year and found I reached more of my goals than I didn't. This year I am going to share my goals with you to hold myself accountable. I am keeping my goals short this month because I know I have a lot on my calendar.
My January 2018 Goals are:
Design wedding cards - I want to add some new cards to my shop
Business taxes - I want to get a head start on getting my taxes done
Update resume - It's always a good to keep your resume up-to-date
Update portfolio - My graphic design portfolio needs a refresh
Reach out to friends - I feel like I have been pulling away from friends, so I want to make more of an effort to reach out to my friends instead of waiting for them to contact me
Use the Curio machine to make cards - I have the Silhouette Curio machine and want to start using it more for my shop
Cook dinner - I enjoy cooking and want to start cooking more instead of having my mom cook dinner all of the time
Play my flute - Something I enjoy doing
Go to Adoration - I feel like I get more direction when I go
Workout 2x a week - I haven't been working out the last couple of months so I want to start small with making a goal of 2x a week and then slowly build up the amount of days I go to the gym
Cut carbs - I would like to lose some weight (what so many say at the beginning of the year) so I am going to cut carbs. I started eating eggs for breakfast and its kept me fuller longer
Prayer journal and study - Spending time in prayer in the morning to reflect on the day ahead and to reflect on how my day was and to be thankful for the opportunities I was given that day
Read - I would like to read more books instead of scrolling on social media and watching TV
I'll keep you updated on my January goals at the end of the month and let you know what goals I have for February. Please comment below if you have goals you would like me to help you be kept accountable.
