New Beginnings

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and a punch to the gut. I was let go from my full-time job at the beginning of the month. I left with my head up, but deep down I was falling apart. It was my first job out of college and started off as an intern and worked my way up to full-time positions. I invested a lot of time there and made friends.

After being in a rut and depressed for a week, I went on a retreat through a young adult group I am apart of. At first I was thinking of not going at all because I didn’t think I would appreciate it and didn’t want to ruin the time for others. It turns out that the retreat was just what I needed.

The first night of the retreat a quote was shared with me:

These are words that I needed to hear. It gave me a sense of healing that one door has closed and another door will open with the timing is right.

I am still discerning what the next step of my career will be, but one thing is certain and that is I will be taking this time to focus more on growing Aqua & Opal Studio. Stationery is something I have a passion for and want to pursue it to the best of my abilities.

Below are two photos from the retreat. I had my phone away most of the time to really focus and disconnect from the rest of the world. The retreat was about C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia, Bram Stoker, and Mary Shelly.

It snowed on our first full day of the retreat. It felt like we were in Narnia.
