February 2018 Goals + January Goals Recap

You might be wondering how my January goals went. Well, I'm going to be honest with you – they did not go as well as I hoped they would be. Things came up unexpectedly that put many of my goals on hold. I was reminded time and time again from Lara Casey and Cultivate What Matters that there are still 11 months left to achieve many of my goals and that maybe this isn't the season for those goals. I stared at my Powersheet planner every day and realizing how crazy I was to put down so many goals right at the beginning of the year instead of making small progress on them over a period of time. I kept this in mind when I sat down at the end of January to review what worked and what didn't. I slightly adjusted my goals for the month of January based on the busy season of life I am currently in.

MY JANUARY 2018 GOALS WERE:

MONTHLY:

Design wedding cards - I designed the cards, but didn't produce them using my Curio machine like I wanted to.

Business taxes - Check

Update resume - Check

Update portfolio - Didn't get this done in January.

Reach out to friends - Check

Use the Curio machine to make cards - I pulled out the machine once, but was getting frustrated. Didn't have a chance to pull it out again.

WEEKLY:

Cook dinner - Working 50+ hours a week didn't really leave much room for cooking this month.

Play my flute - Nope

Go to Adoration - I did during a weekend retreat I was on.

Workout 2x a week - I went maybe 2 times.

DAILY:

Cut carbs - I started eating eggs for breakfast and its kept me fuller longer and took out many carbs for my lunches.

Prayer journal and study - Check. I have liked spending time in prayer in the morning to reflect on the day ahead and to reflect on how my day was and to be thankful for the opportunities I was given that day.

MY FEBRUARY 2018 GOALS ARE:

MONTHLY:

Design wedding cards - I AM going to make wedding cards this month

Update portfolio - I AM going to update my portfolio this month. It's way too out of date

Personal brand color scheme - Could use a fresh look and I found some new inspiration

Reach out to friends - I feel like I have been pulling away from friends, so I want to make more of an effort to reach out to my friends instead of waiting for them to contact me

WEEKLY:

Cook dinner - I am going to find something to cook this month, even if it is brunch on the weekend

Workout on weekends - I am going to find out workouts to do at home

Society for Creative Founders - Participate each week, unlike last month

DAILY:

Cut carbs - I would like to lose some weight (what so many say at the beginning of the year) so I am going to cut carbs. I started eating eggs for breakfast and its kept me fuller longer

Prayer journal and study - Spending time in prayer in the morning to reflect on the day ahead and to reflect on how my day was and to be thankful for the opportunities I was given that day

Read - I would like to read more books instead of scrolling on social media and watching TV
